Welcome, artist friend!

I am so happy we found each other and you’ve decided to read along.

Private View is a newsletter about art and is also an art project in itself. I turn up to share my Private View most weeks and write about being an artist woman, contemporary art, creative practice, value, my Wild Creative Studio, and more.

I don’t hold back! I write through an intersectional feminist, anti-patriarchal, anti-capitalist lens. I’m not interested in maintaining the status quo. I want to see a decolonised art world full of diverse voices: YOUR voices.

I’m Jacqueline and I’ve been writing about art, women in the arts, and living a wild creative life for over 10 years. I’ve worked in the arts as a professional for 20+ years: I’ve led my own art & design studio, taught workshops, given talks, designed and led public and community arts projects, mentored artists, been president of the board of an arts nonprofit, opened (and closed) my own studio/gallery and created numerous artist-led spaces both in person and online. I am passionate about helping artist womxn centre creativity in their lives while advocating for the systemic changes required in the contemporary art world so that ALL artists can thrive. I was born in England but moved to the U.S. twelve years ago, hence my odd spelling! I now share my time between London and the Seattle area.

I’d love to hear your private view! Join the community by becoming a free or paid subscriber.

Artist, art collector, arts writer, arts advocate - all the arts stuff. Cheerleader and mentor to other artist women. English born but now somehow I hold a US passport which is why my spelling is always off.
