The fact that a painting could be "painted over" is something that surprised me a few years ago when I first learned that artists do this. No different from writers, really. Certainly not online. I'm always tinkering with stuff I've already published.
If I haven’t sold a piece within 2 years of making it I consider the work to be fair game for collage material or to be used as a substrate for new work. If I didn’t, I’d need a storage unit to house my portfolio and I’m not going down that route!
Oh my. Yes the dab of paint. I went into the studio to do one think and ended up,with magenta ink splattered all over one of my favourite green shirts! The plan is to embroider over them.
